Anthimia Batrinou is a Biologist (National Kapodistrian University of Athens, NKUA) with Master of Science degrees in Biotechnology (Imperial College, London) and Management (Imperial College, London) and a PhD from the Medical School of Athens (NKUA). Assistant Professor (from 5/2021) in the field of “Biological and Biotechnological Applications in Food and Health”. From 1997 to 2019 she was Scientific and Laboratory Associate of the University of West Attica. Author of 34 scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals, 68 conference papers (31 international and 37 national), 3 scientific monographs, 6 chapters in collective volumes and has participated in 7 research projects. She has supervised 15 postgraduate theses and 98 undergraduate theses. Her research interests are: biotechnological applications in food, probiotic microorganisms, microbial food fermentations, food microbiology, study of antimicrobial activity, microbiological food safety and quality. Member of the research laboratory “Food and Beverage Safety and Quality” of the Department of Food Science and Technology of the University of West Attica. Member of the Hellenic Society of Biotechnology and the Panhellenic Association of Life Scientists.
